Why dont they use backpacks with 2 straps?
why do they gotta use 1 strap backpacks. Just because ubisoft is full of hipsters who can't finish a game doesn't mean that their game should have unfinished backpacks. Seriously, if these people were wearing their packs as much as they seem to be, it would be very uncomfortable. Is there some sort of tactical advantage of having 1 strap? If so it cant be very advantageous considering if the strap fall of the right shoulder it would prevent the soilder from operating their weapon efficiently because the strap feel between the elbow armpit.

And don't get me started on the Lost Planet LED lighting type things on the shoulders.

Those kinds of assault packs are actually quite popular with spec ops units

Single-strap backpacks are largely used by bicycle messengers because they allow you to swing around and access the backpack without taking it off, so while uncomfortable at heavier weights it does provide some utility. Usually there's a small "third leg" clip at the waist to prevent it from slipping off the shoulder.

But there's about a billion other aspects of the game that requires a heavy dosage of suspended disbelief to feel immersive or authentic at all, so this oughta be the least of your concerns.

makes sense, but they seem to live in these backpacks, and I dont think I've seen them take anything out of the

Nope. They use plate carriers, vests and chest rigs for fast access gear. Backpacks are for settled moments.

It's more a Bandolier style Utility belt with a pack attached to it really. All your gear is attached to the outside of it.

No.

Which is why military 'tactical rucksacks' have 2 straps.

Just google image search for 'tactical rucksack' and see how many of them have one strap...

2 straps backpacks are used because they are easier to operate and detach in emergency, they hold more stuff , they are more resilient, they are more ergonomic if you lay down on your back, they balance your weight, they don't get stuck and get you killed.. Single strap backpacks are not a thing in a military enviroment unless you're at base and you wanna swag at the basketball court. But those in the game are civilians, so I guess they wanted to keep the part but honestly this whole thing with the division etc doesn't make any sense at all, and Tom Clancy is probably swearing from the grave seeing all the ♥♥♥♥ being pushed out with his name on it.
