I don't understand these ECHO Missions

Walk up to an ECHO device and I need to recreate or find something... I think? Confused as to what I need to do here? I don't understand these ECHO Missions. Is this like batman where you rewind the problem? All I see is paused orange like images of people.

Only a few of them require you to "investigate" by hunting around and pressing F on certain points to discover new dialogue and clues. Most of them are just for free exp and learning more about the story.

walk around the echo area and if you center your camera on the various white lines trying to form a reticle (very hard to see them if not looking specifically for em imo) you should have a few that give you an option to interact (investigate) with. Also, sometimes the echo location gives you a second interaction option to collect the data and simply move on, without any more investigating needed. So for them, just need to activate and stand over the activate spot for a second to then see a prompt to collect.

AI is killing me before they spawn in? Just died after I was struck over and over until I died. The AI was right next to me hitting me then spawned in after 20 seconds. Do you guys have problems with the lighting in this game?
