Manual save?
Is it manual save/quicksave allowed out of missions, or is it autosave only?

No.....It regularly saves by itself.

So, what if my connection or the servers go down while I'm playing and last autosave was 15 minutes ago?

The game is 100% online all the time so you're always on an online instance of the game, yes even if you're not in the darkzone you are always on a server, the game saves as you play, if you DC your character is still maintained on the server and saves your progress, even if you DC you can most of the time continue from where you left off in a mission. ( Only if you manage to log back in within a cetrain time limit that is)

All right, so it autosaves frequently while playing. But does it saves progress, xp, equipment and location when disconnecting?

It's not a save... Everything you do anything you get goes through the Ubisoft servers.

game does not save played last night and got into the biulding checkpoint and played today and didn't save
