M44 or M1A (End Game)? What's your preference?

I love both Marksman rifle, but I switch them out from time to time depending on the situation. What are your preferences? Let's hear them out!

If you want to use the M44. Use the M44 Custom. The M44 hunting rifle is the low end version. Reasoning is, the M44 Hunting allows for a scope, silencer, and skin. Thats it. But the M44 Custom has the full mod slots like the rapid fire sniper rifles. But the bolt action high damage of the slow fire ones. You can then mod it to get closer to 100 rounds per minute. But still retain that 500K crit.

You don't "Need" the high fire rate of 250-350 RPM. 100 is plenty for a sniper rifle. You have to feather the trigger on the higher fire ones anyway, without steady hands. The bolt action ones are just more ammo efficient. I have ran out of ammo in missions sometimes with my rapid fire sniper rifle. Never had that problem using the purple M44 Custom I used to use. But damage man, damage.

Another thing I like about the Rapid Fire ones. When you get rushed by a melee guy, you can use the rapid fire sniper rifle like a SMG or Assault rifle, and blind fire the charging enemy. And just put round after round into him. Bolt action Sniper rifles don't have that option.

The key is to stack the hell out of crit damage and crit chance. I've one hit yellow NPC snipers from full armor and health to dead in a single shot with the M44 Custom. I've only 2-3 hit them with the Rapid Fire Sniper Rifles.

Love the feel and high damage per bullet of bolt actions, they're always my sniper rifle of choice.

Sniper rifles though, the key to being viable is hitting the head. You have to hit the head to max your damage. Anything else is just wasted bullets. Get good at hitting them in the head on the run, when they roll, when they jump off stuff, when they are charging you. Those head shots is everything. I've missions after a battle, and the xp rolls out, I've had something like 12 headshots in a row. It's much more surgical than spray and prey.

Bosses drop weapons, weapon mods and armor mods.

This is the one part of the game I dont understand:
Why would I pick a 5 mag sniper, bolt action rifle, when a 20 mag is doing the exact same dmg?

Custom M44 doesnt seem to do anymore dmg than an MiA, and the MIA is spitting out shots way faster and has much larger mag...there has to be something about this slower firing weapons why they're in game...right?

Playing Solo it's better using a M1A. Playing in a Team you are able to galsscannon M44. Putting all your build in this one single shot, critting down the armor of a named with one hit. And followup shots are easy without wasting mods on stability etc. If you got good aim you don't need much bullets.
