What settings are using CPU so much?
i have it on high over all setting and capped it at 30fps. the gpu is using only 60% but cpu is hitting nearlly 70% usage and 90 degree temperature. does anyone know any particular setting that could give my cpu less stress?(nothing goes wrong in the game. i just want a lower temp)

tbh, no other games i ever played hit 70% cpu usage

i think the game just uses alot of cpu power to render even if u play low settings thats my guess tho.

My usage never goes above 40% :/
But try moving down the rendering distance and detail sliders.

This is the first game where my sensors had warned me of high CPU and chassis temperatures... The GPU is deffinitely getting worked up, too....

Altough, I admit, I didn't have much problem playing on Very High and running between 30-40 fps.

RECOMMENDED:

Processor: Intel Core i7-3770 | AMD FX-8350, or better

this game is verry CPU heavy more cores the better my I7 only about % 40

my specs if fine, i just want a lower temp.

Turn down detail distance. The more objects on-screen the more the CPU has to work.

yes, the cpu usage is unusually high, or maybe they use too complex algorithms for physics

ive tried turn down my settings to default low( was ultra) the cpu usage jumped from 60-70% to over 80%. i just dont understand..

Well a friend of mine is experiencing high CPU temperatures as well but if people are turning everything down and their load increases....then knowing what settings to turn down is not gonna help much.

Seems it's really something wrong in the software somewhere. Fortunately I don't seem to have any issues myself. My CPU is at about 48C and my GPU is at 68C when playing.

yeah, i turned down to low but the usage increased 10% lol.

FX 8350 and 970 here. The only problems I have with this game are

Sometimes (not a lot) it crashes, before it crashes the CPU seems to spike in temp.
For ME personally, the CPU usage is a little too high, but not 100% like others here, I have FOG and Reflectiosn underneath it turned to medium as well as ambient occulsion. Turn "Sun whatever its called" to Low all. Also turn partical effects to high. When I do that I can get a smooth 60 most of the time, but I noticed over time or whatever weird machenic is doing it, performance gets degraded. You HAVE to restart your PC after playing for a while or after restarting the game SOMETIMES! Also, make sure you are running in full screen. ALSO do NOT touch ANYHTING after you star The Division program... LET IT LOAD INTO THE GAME! Usually if I do that last step the game works wonders. My system is overclocked to 4.3 and I have higher end everything else as well.
