Rainbow Six Siege and Division Connected?

Is it true?

I was told by friends that the White Mask gang in Rainbow Six Siege that caused the Rainbow program to reinstate caused the outbreak in NYC which then caused The Division program to activate. Is this true?

With the leak of the opening video.....no, it's not. The source of the virus is not the white masks.

That's a fun theory...but sadly unlikely, as awesome as a connected universe would be. Also I think the timelines would be far too difficult to hold up. In order for the tech of the Division to work in the world of Siege, Division would have to take place nearly a decade after the "events" of siege. By that time I'm sure the White Masks would be eradicated by Rainbow Six

its not connected, ubisoft massive didnt develop seige, it has its own bioterror scenario story

The devs did mention that there might be Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, and Rainbow Six easter eggs though. Course that was mentioned back when the game was first revealed so it might have gotten dropped.

The only thing connected is the Siege Suit Reward Which You Will Get If you own siege.

I don't really think thats an opening sequence. It feels more like a reveal in the middle of the game.
