CPU Usage 100% after Ram Upgrade
I upgraded from 8 GB to 16GB (pretty much same mhz and volt) and since then my CPU usage skyrocket. it's at 100% all the time, no matter what i do. It's almost impossible to do anything because everything stutterts.

It was fine until i played the division for about an hour, then it started to do that, i restarted my PC but that didn't fix the issue.

Can someone help me?

System:

MSI Z170A Gaming M5
i5 6600k
MSI GTX 970
RAM HyperX Fury 2 x 8 GB (2133Mhz)
Win 10

Are the two memory you're using /exactly/ the same model?
Voltage and clock aren't the only things that needs to match in memories.

Yes. They also were new.

I don't think the memory is the issue tho? as everything is normal according to my overlay. Except the CPU.

If you don't think the problem is the memory, why is the memory upgrade the first thing you mention on your thread?

OK, I give up. Bye.

Because that's literally the only thing that changed. But the memory is acting normal while my CPU isn't. it didn't happen again yet, but it's still pretty weird.

I also forgot to check what was using my CPU

Pretty sure its an issue with todays patch... there's increased loading times, people are hittin 100% CPU... black screens, etc etc.

First off what are your CPU temps under load are you getting probblems in other games or just this one?

Check your CPU temps it could be overheating and thortteling you might have knoacked it loose a bit when sticking your new ram in if that is the case then just try replacing the thermal paste on your CPU cooler and resting it but if there ok then take the ram out try each stick on there own see if it works ok.

got the same problem, both cpu and ram usage is off the hook... :(

It is not your ram it is the game.

Hmmm okay. It did happen only 1 time today for like... 10 minutes and then it didn't happen again (yet)

Did your FPS increase? That could be the reason.

When I cap my FPS at 30, I use ~60% of my CPU. When I uncap it and it hits 60, I hit 100% usage.

This is before today's patch, by the way.

Cap your FPS at 30 and see what happens.

Edit: This is also the only game where this happens. I duno why it eats CPU power like it does.

It didn't increase, but it wasn't as smooth. Somehow my system dedicated memory was so high during group play of the division. but it's fixed now with 16 Gigs. The CPU problem didn't happen again yet too.

Ah, well that's good to hear.

If it happens again i'll check out what process is actually causing it. because it forgot to check in the first place.
