Are we able to hold a converted SMG-9 with a shield?

I dunno if it's possible but you can hold it 1 handed and it doesen't equip, or is their a way to equip it?

Legitimatly, no, sidearm only, but there used to be or maybe still is a way to hold a primary using a glitch. Im not sure if its been patched or not but you can find it on youtube.

Not yet, but with the 1.3 update there will be a new gear set, Front Line, which will allow you to use the SMG with a shield. You will need 4 gear pieces of this set for this perk to work.

Yes, but you need to have purchased the season pass to get the Front Line set (and the 3 other sets that will be DLC only).

Front Line was teased yes but Ubisoft said it's not coming in 1.3. It comes later.

The set isn't susppose to come out with the patch, they are still working on it's balance.

Oh and that glitch was like way back in the first month that some one could use a SMG or AR with the shield and yes it's been patched.

Actually there is a new way of doing it that was just discovered.... Youtube it.

Smg get nerfed some a bit so its not that it is a battlemage now ... to give other weapons a chance too to shine and bring some more Roledefining into the game . Not standard smg and snipers all over the DZ anymore .

There was a bug back in 1.0 and 1.1 (now patched) which allowed players to equip a shield with any primary weapon. This included LMG, Assault Rifle, SMG, and Marksmen. It wasn't that overpowered as shields were very weak. Now with the shield health boost things could be different, but I don't see this being used that much in PvP and see it more as a PvE build.

yeah in defense missions PVE it could be a Good Thing to set up for. especially if the Boxes are under Fire and you have to protect them.
