Got op stuff really early???
Im pretty new to this game. Picked it up in the sale. I'm playing along and I notice this cache thing in my inventory. I did not know what this was, but there was an option to open it, doing so I got a lvl 30 'exotic' weapon (The Showstopper) that's way above my character level (6). It can be sold for 160k. Two questions.

1. Is this normal to happen?
2. Should I keep it or sell it to get weapons early level. Is it difficult to get again?

Thanks for any responses.

Edit.

I also got a Backpack and Kneepad of the Nomad, the same two questions apply to them also. They are both worth 160k too.

Keep the showstopper. It can be difficult to find again.

Yeah if you grabbed the full package in the sale like me you will have some freebies. Also if you play survival before lvl 30 all the crates you get give lvl 30 weapons/gear. I had a huge collection of stuff by the time i hit 30. Its nice to have gear when you get there but you will find out its not the very "end game" gear yet ;)

PS yeah you can sell a lot of the gold guns, you get a lot of crates late game. I sold a bunch of them so i could always afford new gear every few levels

Keep them.
None of the stuff you got are OP but WILL help you sustain and get right into end game stuff where everyone else is at.

What you opened was intended for all players returning or new to catch up. You wont get slaughtered at the end now but you arent going to be able to do heroic or legendary or even some of the incursions without struggling with the gear provided. But you will be able to do most challenging and farming methods to start getting better gear.

Definatly keep the end-game stuff... it will come in handy, if you reach level 30, and that will happen soon. I use the showstopper with a class. striker as primary. - 80.000 damage, with unforgiving and predatory.

So from what I've gathered, I should keep the showstopper. Can I sell one of the two gear set pieces? Will they become very useful or can I find them again easily.

Id say keep your gear set pieces you want to use, exotics, and any gold weapons you like to use. So if you like assault rifles keep a collection ready for when you hit 30.

If it says "Classified set" and has a little folder on the icon defo keep it. They are the best pieces. The normal ones are cool to use at first but you will want a classified set as quickly as poss later on.

For me i had 100+ gold weapons well before lvl 30 so i sold around 60 of them in one sitting haha
I got The House right from the cache. When I hit lv.30, boy that SMG wreck the ♥♥♥♥ outta NPC lol...

YES, that is completely normal. What you got was a Shield Box. In game, hit ESC, Commendations, Shields. You will see a whole list of them. Each of those gives you a challenge to complete and a box of goodies. 500 Div tech(you need ALOT of this) and an exotic and classy gear.

DONT sell your Showstopper. Its a pretty decent gun...well, depending on the talents it came with. Same with the Classy Nomad pieces. Nomad is a "sustainment" build and its quite versatile. The set takes care of your characters toughness to a point, so your free to either build it for damage or amplifiy the toughness it gives you, or do a bit of both. Its a cool build, im a big fan. Just stash the stuff until your lvl 30 WT5.

You got that box for, I think, clearing out the BoO.

This is my character using my Nomad build. Note the green line over my health bar? Yeah, that is what Classy Nomad does. Its basically an overshield, worth 50% of your hitpoints. Sooo, my guy normally has like 266k health, hes kinda soft. However, throw in that over shield and hes got almost 400K hitpoints. Nomad also gives you ALOT of health on kill as well as passive healing, stack it with predatory weapon talent and you got yourself a build that can take ALOT of damage, provided you can kill quick. Nomad also gives you free lives when you die. If you notice the green icon under my health bar. That is Nomad Revive. YOu die, it pops you back to 100% health and off you go.

Yeah, Nomad is great for solo play or if you just wanna not die.
