How long does it take to get a classified gear set SOLO?

I recently got back to the game and been trying to farm the classified gear set on the Pier map.
So far i have gotten 0 drops that i wanted out of 30+ runs.
Am i missing something? i see players run around with those full sets like its nothing to get them.

Im so sorry if im missing an obvious technique or solution. but at the moment i dont know anymore.

You will not get much from the Pier. I tried it and got nothing. IMO, you would be better of soloing Undergroud and LZ bosses. I have got a ton of classified and extoic weapons just doing LZ bosses, but it takes a lot of grinding. You can also buy ($$$) some classified gear from the terminal vendor. The DZ is not the best place for farming classified gear.

EDIT: I did not try resistance on Pier 93. As Rogue posted below it my be a good place to get some cassified.

Alot of players got them from all of the global events that have been going on. If one is not running currently, the best way to get them is doing 10 wave resistance farming, Or to what ever wave you can effciently open caches at. Other than that you can brave the darkzone solo but you'll probably have a bad time.

Resistance, you can get at least 2 or 3 classified sets before wave 10 (on Pier 93).

Like mentioned - Farming resistance, Light Zone boss runs, classified cache from the special equipment vendors either at the terminal or camp clinton, and opening locked dark zone chests and killing named bosses. But global events are the best time to grind for classifieds.

There are adequate videos on youtube how to do it. Besides, legendarys, incuesions, landmarks and named bosses work well too. There is also a global event this month wit several class. sets.

You will get what you want, but you have to be patient. It's hard getting the right pieces of a full set together, it's not just the six pieces, it's that you got that in one set what you want, like crit. hit chance several times etc.

Focus on that set you got the most parts of, and let the other's come to you.

I made an LZ boss run yesterday, got 4 classified pieces, and 3 exotics. Nothing I needed but you get the point. There are a few boss maps/guides posted by others in this forum. Once you learn the route you can make a run quick. The bosses reset but I'm not sure how fast (4 hrs maybe?). Personally I find it faster than resistance and it's an easy solo activity.

As for getting what you want/need...well lots of rng there.
