D3, FireCrest or Striker?
These are the sets i got from my reactivation boxes (even though only ever played the trial, briefly long time ago).

FireCrest i find the most useable, since i actually actively use the flame turret since it's a pretty good distraction that often allows me to unload a clip into the face of whomever happened to catch on fire or gives me time to back off and reposition (or just plain run away) should i feel the need to do so.

Downside is, the set has pretty meh bonuses, all in all.. :nay:

Dunno much about the other sets, Striker is for people who actually aim properly (good set for people who use marksman type weapons?) i assume and since i prefer fast fire guns the ultimate set bonus feels somewhat wasted.

D3 is.. well.. ballistic shield related?

I used the thing early on, then found that there other better skills to focus on so dropped it and never went back, but here is a set that utilizes the thing and.. is it actually any good, like at all?

Gotten few set items from npcs, etc, that hint at other sets, so perhaps you who been playing this for longer could clue me in on the sets not one of the above three mentioned.

Perhaps there's even a healer specific set out there... :steamhappy:

EDIT:

For the time being, which of those sets would give me most mileage till i can farm myself something better?

D3 and Striker are good. With D3, you can pretty much solo Legendary missions(if you know how to properly spec skill power and health, you get 2.5Million ballistic shield health). I myself run a hybrid D3. 3 Piece predator+4piece D3. I use Ninjabike backpack for that extra gear slot bonus. Also do look what the above guy pointed you out to. Good luck on the field agent!

Okay, will take look.

Maybe something for a longer term goal, since bit limited in options right now.

I used the striker set and binned the other 2. The bonus of 1% extra damage per hit can stack up nicely using a m4 with extended mag or an lmg. Comes in usefull on resistance for the harder enemies.

Iv swapped out to predators mark now cos i have 4 classified pieces for it and im loving the bleed effect it adds. You know when that sneeky low health enemy takes cover and you have to wait for em to pop up again....with this they just bleed out while they hide :)

I gave the D3 set a try (with 2pc Striker for the nice stability bonus!), despite it sounding kinda bleh and while few of the pieces are really low rating (low to mid 260s) and my stats not being optimized for stamina boosting, hot damn.. it actually works and works well.

The shield can actually take a beating, though i tested it at the pier (forget what it's called cos am very tired) where the endless missions are and could just hide behind it while smg'ing the enemies down.

Now it was only tier 5 random street thugs, assuming vs tougher opponents will start to hit issues, but i can see how with higher rated gear and proper stat balancing the set could shine.

Also took a gander at the link provided and decided to try farming the Nomad set, since it looks like a good solo 'i wanna run through and loot the dz without actually fighting npcs' set, though for team oriented stuff, prolly need to find something else.

Bonus mention goes to AlphaBridge, which sounds interesting with the cycling signature but dunno how it would work in action, as it may just be one of those cool sounding gimmicks that turn out to be absolute trash when you try to take on anything tougher than thug with a baseball bat. :steammocking:

The D3 set is a blessing for the solo player (and, well for coop as well).
Not only can your shield take a serious beating, it also increases your damage (which you can increase even further with Ballistic Shield Damage mods performance mods), and you can even heal it with medkits if you take the Combat Medic perk.
Couple that with a high-performance SMG such as the Navy MP5 (or the House exotic if you're lucky to get one), and you'll mow down Elite mobs like they're mere annoyances.

Yep, been pretty good so far, even with moderately trashy gear.

Wanted to try out the Nomad and Reclaimer sets, but then it hits me that why would i swap D3 for Nomad when running around solo?

Reclaimer should be good for coop play at least, even if it meant hiding behind cover most of the time.

Gun wise, no real luck on that front, unfortunately but will keep an eye out for the House. :ghlol:
