Skull over PVE Player
I was in Hell's Kitchen and ran across two bosses that had skulls over their heads/name. What does that mean? I did a search on here for skull but didn't see anything on this topic.

Thanks for any information.

That's correct. It's warning the baddies are much higher level than you.

I have not run into a boss with a skull over thier name in this game, but in others I have. It was an indicator that warned me that the boss I encountered was extremely difficut to kill because of their level as opposed to mine.

This usually happens when you join in with someone lvl 30 as npc change their lvl to 25 at that point when you are at World Tier 0, when you are at World Tier 5 npcs will have their lvl changed to 34 and in most cases Skull (in most games) means that npc is atleast 9 lvls above you, havent tested that in the Division so i dont know exact number of lvls but it just mean you will have hard time killing that bullet sponge xD In some cases even run out of ammo before killing it.

Simple warning of outmatch with the actual level of your character.

Thanks for the info. I find it interesting that I was deep in Hell's Kitchen a level 10-13 zone and I was level 15 and I was outmatched. But, that would explain why I was killed with two bullets. One from the yellow sniper, and then one from the other purple boss that walked up to me and shot me in the face while I was on my way of emptying my third clip into him without even knocking off one armor block. :steamfacepalm:

I didn't have a lot of time to play, so I thought I would just go gather all the intel in that zone as I had finished it. Saw a group of JTF being attacked by a group of normal villans. Thought I would help out, and then those two came running around the corner and completely surprised me. It was when I went back to the scene where I saw them just walking down the train tracks that I put my scope on them and saw the skulls.

Oh, well, I will wait till I way out level them, then I will get my revenge. I will simply walk up to both of them and shoot them in the face. :steammocking:

Okay, so I went back to shoot them in the face. Turns out that the characters are both lvl 20, fully armored, NPC's that wander into a 10-13 level zone and engage against lower level players, and JTF forces if you happen to have already done the mission that is in their wandering zone.

That doesn't seem right. Reminds me of Tableu Rasa which used to place high level bosses in lower level zones blocking any kind of progress in that area forcing one to go way around the area so the high level boss wouldn't spot you and chase you down and kill you.

Just as a side note, I loved Tableu Rasa! Some parts of this game remind me of that game.

Happy you got your revenge:steamhappy: You will have plenty of opportunities to get your revenge on some NPC that took you out:steamhappy:

I miss Tabula Rasa too. Good game ahead of its time, but damn, really buggy, especially my fave class Guardian :/
Dont worry much about pve, everything can be done sooner or later, you can get to level 30 just in few hours with help, you can even solo high risk hvt later.. but when u try to go pvp, you will see 1 dude can easily kill 8 player (2 group) in dz.. :yorick:
you will die before u can even blink :yorick:
