> How To Fix Random Game Crashes <
If you experience random game crashes with DirectX12 renderer, you really should try this:
(Make sure that you have the lastest video driver installed, and DirectX 12 enabled in the game).

- Open the directory where The Division is installed. On Steam: select LIBRARY, GAMES. Then right-click on Tom Clancy's The Division" down the menu, select Propreties, select the Locate files tab, and then click on Browse local files.

- Right click on TheDivision.exe and click on Properties.

- Click on the Compatibility tab.

- Check Disable fullscreen optimizations.

- Click on Change high DPI settings.

- You should see the option:
High DPI scalling override --- Override high DPI scalling behavior. Scalling performed by:.

- Select Application.

- Click on the OK button.

And ... that's it! The game crashed on me almost every 5 or 10 minutes with DirectX 12.
After this fix, the game didn't crash anymore - I hope it helps you!
Don't forget to share this post if it works for you!

Hello
I tested this setting.
It doesn't work for me.
The game starts in window mode.
When switching to full screen 3440x1440 crashes it off.
Even if I turn off DX12.

Sorry for my English but this is written with Google translator

Hello, SilverHank.

What you describe here is a 4K resolution. For this very hight definition, you need a good hardware. If not, the game gonna crashes many times - Do you have a monitor who supports that resolution? At least 16MB of memory on your motherboard, a 3.5 or 4GHz CPU, but also a video card like the Nvidia GeForce GTX 980?

If not, I really recommend you to use a resolution such as 1920x1080 (16:9 aspect ratio) or similar, but not higher. Also, you have a "Auto-detect settings" option in the Graphics menu (below the menu) - You really should use it (don't forget to click on "Apply" when it's done). Test it, and would fix your problem, I think. - I hope it helps, SilverHank.

@Twitch_Punshee - Hello. Of course, if you turn off the DirectX 12, it works but DirectX 12's focus is on enabling a dramatic increase in visual richness through a significant decrease in CPU overhead.

Games will likely see way better performance because the load is tossed between the multiple cores simultaneously instead of dumping loads onto one core at a time, than any previous DirectX versions (9, 10, and 11). This is a big deal, as DirectX 11 doesn't take advantage of multiple cores in this fashion, thus a single core is doing all the work while the others remain idle.

DirectX 12 provides a 50% improvement in CPU utilization over DirectX 11, and a better distribution of work across multiple sequences of programmed instructions, or threads. Especialy with open-world video games and for gamers, that means better framerates and a better image quality.

if you want to play the latest games at their best, you might not have a choice regardless.

Holy cow. You are a genius. I couldn't even get to the menu after changing it to DirectX 12 before following your steps. Thank you!
