Crafting Confusion...
My backpack and stash are filled (at capacity) with high end (yellow) weapons and gear. Based on the guides and advice on the forums I was told to not sell the stuff and deconstruct everything then craft when hitting World Tier 5.

Well I am there now but confused because all the blueprint vendors have gear score of 256 or lower. So whats the point of deconstructing the gear to craft only 256 gear score items? Am I missing something? If not is it still wise to craft or should I just sell everything to make space?

Thanks

Whoever told you to craft stuff is stupid, the only good things in the game drop from enemies, i would recomend selling a ton of items so you have a giant credit reserve, then once you have a literal ♥♥♥♥ ton of credits to last you for years then just deconstruct everything so you get division tech so you can optimize weapons.

Right.

Because crafting a godroll M4 lightweight is worse than the endless grind for it.

256 GS blueprints can go from 256 and higher. Only buy the lvl 34 blueprints for performance gear mods, stam, elec and firearms gear mods

The chances of having a blueprint for a god roll M4 is minimal, and i guarantee that you could probably find something better from drops, in all my time i have played this game i have never crafted an item and actually used it because you can find better from drops, and finding a good M4 is not going to take an endless grind, if you really cant find one then just farm exotic caches for a Big Alejandro, it does exactly the same thing but fires faster with a larger magazine.

The only thing you may want to craft; provided you have the blueprints from the vendor, is weapons/gear attachments and mods; sometimes you can get a decent mod or the like that you're trying to find to get your hands on completing a weapon out or something; but honestly you pick so much of the stuff up off enemies anyway; I'm constantly deconstructing after every few fights it seems.

Now I am even more confused. So crafting is pointless even with optimization station and recalibration? Better just to sell everything for credits?

Also side note, how do you get division tech from deconstructing as mentioned above? I have never gotten anything but weapon parts, fabric and electronics.

You can get division tech from deconstructing high end or better items; it's a chance though. You can craft things; but honestly just break it all down for division tech; I mean what are you going to do with all the credits? Buy basic caches? Nah; you'd be better deconstructing and saving up division tech for the optimization station.

If basic caches were worth anything; we'd all just be buying them instead of trying to farm proficinecy caches or bosses for classifieds/exotics.

Deconstructing yellow/gold weapons and items has a chance of rewarding division tech, keep a few high level weapons that you enjoy playing with and upgrade them with division tech. For example you found a gold AK lvl ~270 with good stats, use division tech to upgrade it a few times (you can do this up to 4 times per weapon) and ejoy it. I don’t think you can ever find (enemies drop, crates, store or whatever) a max level weapon or item, that’s why you deconstruct to earn division tech and power up your favourites.

Exactly; find a good few weapons you like, ensure they have a higher level and talents you're liking; maybe rolling one of them to get a better if needed; then optimize away!

I have never sold an item in my Division time and i'm up 5M+. Never sell stuff, always deconstruct. You get crafting materials and Division Tech from it. With the crafting material you can craft ♥♥♥♥♥♥ exotic pistol (you obtained the blueprint for that weapon in the last story mission) over and over again, deconstructing that gives you Division tech as well.

Basicaly, the best items drop in world, not from crafting. But with crafting you can gather Division tech, wich is your ultimate way of getting the best gear ingame. (Find a classified set, max it out with Division tech and move on to next game)

....You do know the M4 is not a really common drop. Same with LVAO-C. Crafting a good item is way better than farming them. You can always roll a talent you dont want off if it has 2 other talents you want. Its how i got my godroll mp7's last patch, how i got some of my new M4's and such. Its how i got most of my 267 roll gear mods etc.

As for saying a LMG is better than a AR. Good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ luck reloading that thing without Classified Lonestar. You're dead before you know.

Okay so deconstructing everything and optimizing seems to be the way to go (plus 1 or 2 items to craft). I just did that and got about 20 division tech.

Now what's fastest way to get division tech?

Exotic caches. 20-30 ish i believe every cache after that its WSP activities and Resistance caches then DZ Div tech runs and sealed caches (yellow ones)

What about crafting an exotic and deconstructing it? That gives 1 division tech. Worth it or a waste of resources?
ERROR1018 Jan 2, 2018 @ 5:12pm
Strictly speaking the DZ is likely to give you more divtech per hour than anything else when you're successful, but legendaries and west side pier alerts + caches are pretty ok as well.

Everything else is pretty meh in terms of this stat, but everything you do that generates loot earns you div tech, so nothing is really a "waste of time" unless that's the only thing you need.

edit: this posted in the wrong thread, hilariously.
