Voice chat in the Dark Zone

How do you use voice chat in the Dark Zone? More specificaly when you are in a group? I mean I know how group voice chat works but twice now i've come upon friendly groups of players in the DZ and they could talk to me, but my voice chat just kept going through to my group member...

Is there a way to switch from group chat to direct chat?

Looking through settings and can't find anything, the only thing I can think of is typing /s so you're in /say when you're talking.

It automatically has an open mic. So if you connect a mic just talk.

If you have open mic on yes, but it has nothing to do with what you were asking about.

I think if you are in grp chat the public can't hear you. I play solo mostly so when I meet other grp of players and I see waveform on their character, i know they are talking among themselves. I believe you gotta switch over to public chat for others to hear you.

You can always use TeamSpeak or Mumble and set up a private channel for your group.

And how do you switch to public chat?

1. Please switch to push-to-talk instead of an open mic. It's really annoying to have players both in groups and outside them micspam static noises.
2. If you're in a group while playing DZ and come across other people outside your group, you can still talk to them if you're in close range. Keep in mind, whatever you say to your group while in close peremeter to other players, will also be transmitted over to them. So try to avoid asking your teammates if they would like to rogue next to other agents, as they will most likely anticipate your moves.Use group text chat for that
