A question about threat.
Yo. I've been wondering - Is Threat Increase/Reduction an overall stat that's always active, or is it based on the weapon you're currently wielding? For example, if I have 2 Marksman Rifles with Reduced Threat, but a pistol with increased threat, would I be able to snipe in peace, but still be effective when I bring up my Riot Shield? Or would the Double Threat Reduction on my rifles carry over while I have my pistol equipped?

Sorry if it seems like a simplistic question - I've tried looking online and haven't found any specific information on the system mechanic.

The threat is based on the weapon that you are using, so if you have a pistol with increased threat, but a rifle with reduced threat, using the rifle will make it so enemies target you less.
If you are playing solo, none of this matters though, because the enemy tends to target a human player as soon as they get into combat. If it is just you, they will still shoot at you.

Ah, most appreciated. I tend to play in a group, and I'm the only one with the Riot Shield, so I wanted to be sure that I'd be a tank when I wanted to be a tank, and a backline sniper when I wanted to snipe. Thank you again.
