[SOLVED] cannot go to Fullscreen
Has anyone else got the same problem?

Game works fine in windowed mode at 1440x900 but if I switched to Fullscreen (be it at fullHD or at 1440x900) the game crashes instantly. I made sure Dx 12 is off (as it appears to be a known problem with this game). I ran the auto detect so let the game get the settings for me, still it crashes.
Is it a problem with AMD cards? I have a RX 480 4GB on a i7-2600K

If someone had a similar problem and found a solution, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

Right as you launch the game and the window comes up, as fast as you can hit alt and enter see if that helps.

I did but no luck it still crashes right away.
Oh well, I guess I'll play in window mode then.

turn off the uplay overlay and ensure DX12 mode is disabled.

Try turning off Uplay overlay and if that doesn't work try this,

Make a backup of this file before you edit it.

Go to Documents\My Games\Tom Clancy’s The Divison
Open GFXSettings.Rogue_x64 (back it up before you do)
Change the “width” and “height” values to match your resolution
Changed Windowed to Fullscreen
Set the XML file to Read Only because the changes always revert after running The Division client.
Save and start the game

Wow, Thanks JazzBlue.... that did the trick!
The file was named GFXSettings.TheDivision.exe.xml but editing as you instructed and setting it as Read Only and now I'm playing fullscreen.

Again. Thanks a lot!

Just for posterior reasons, I was having the same issue with putting the game in fullscreen on an RX 480, which was down to the DirectX 12 rendering option. I had to first uncheck the DX12 setting (that I'd turned on the day before, but not restarted afterwards), apply the changes, then I could set the game back to fullscreen and it'd work without crashing. Trying to change both at the same time didn't work as I guess the fullscreen applies first, then the DX12 change. With the benefit of hind legs, it probably wasn't the smartest thing to change a setting that would apply after restarting the game and not check to see if it caused problems for the next time I loaded the game. Hurray for PC gaming.
