Windowed full screen problem
Up until now I have had no real issues playing the game, other than being a terrible shot.
Now however that has changed....big time.
Game on startup is in windowed mode, I change the setting to windowed full screen then press F to apply and the game changes but freezes....the mouse pointer still moves but will not interact with anything clickable on screen, then after maybe 15 seconds it goes back to windowed mode and still cant click on anything, have to restart the game with the same problem once it does restart.
So to whoever the class one muppet is that is responsible for the game "updates and patches", you need sit down and really think about what you do.....coz it aint working pal!!
So if any technologically savy people out there know what I need to do to fix this little problem, feel free to help out this noob...wanna play the game(badly)...

I had the same problem. The game worked perfectly fine and then it started launching in a window. There are 2 fixes that I know of. The better fix was to open The Division from the Uplay icon on the system tray (down by where the date and time is) just right click on the Uplay icon and click on The Division to launch it. If that does not work then try to set it to window full first and then set it to full screen. That should allow it to change without it crashing.

yep but mine starts in window, adn stays windowed, cant change it to fullscreen, it resets it whenever i try to change it. rip :[

It still does it when starting from the system tray?

try to use "alt+enter" instead of changing it in settings

I have edited state.cfg manualy and then set the file to Read Only.

file is in C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\My Games\Tom Clancy's The Division

I had to edit the following section :

fullscreenSettings = {
fullscreen = true,
height = 1440,
maximized = true,
refresh-rate-denominator = 1000,
refresh-rate-numerator = 71000,
width = 2560,
x-pos = 0,
y-pos = 0,
},


and

windowed = false,

and


windowedSettings = {
fullscreen = true,
height = 1440,
maximized = true,
refresh-rate-denominator = 1000,
refresh-rate-numerator = 60000,
width = 2560,
x-pos = 320,
y-pos = 176,
},
},


No more problem for me since...

its not work
i had this game when its free for 1 week . and have no problem. but now i cant play as fullscreen

go to C:\Users\My Pc\Documents\My Games\ and delet Tom Clancy's The Division folder .then start game. ez

I had DX12 enabled, and turned it off, and tried to put it full screen and it worked. I wanted to try DX12 earlier and gave it a shot, and then it caused the game not to function in full screen, only windowed.

turn uplay overlay off it fix going into fullscreen mode
