Game deleted itself
I played this game about 12 hours ago.

After i woke up this morning and opened it via uplay, steam prompted me to install it.

I live alone and my computer was completely shut off.

Has this happened to you?

After a quick read i see it's happened to Xbone & Ps4 people..

I've never seen Steam delete a game before even when the licence expired, was it a full download or just the install messages? I've had that happen before as sometimes it seems to forget it already installed the game.

I need to do the full 48gb download again. Which really sucks as I got limited data.

Just make sure it's actually deleted and not just unlisted from your library. Go to the Steam folder on your HDD and check there. It might just not be picking up, especially if you have more than on drive.

If so, just restore from there.

I use Trend Micro Titanium. I checked the logs and no reports this month.

I do have multiple drives. I did check the designated SSD for the files in my steam directory, but it's not there. It's also grayed out in my library under the MMORPG tab.

The Witcher 3 did this to me once. It was greyed out in Steam indicating it wasn't installed. The play game button was "install game." Sounds similar to your case. But, when I clicked install game, it checked the game files, and was immediately playable, as if the game was there all along, but wasn't showing on my drive or in Steam.

So, try hitting install game button and hopefully it will just verify quickly.

did you install the game on the C drive or any other? because maybe that other drive could be corrupted.

Thanks for the answer :) though it was unfortunately not the case. It's busy downloading now and will be completed over the next few days.

It's installed on a seperate drive (F). I played other games installed on that drive (ghost recon wildlands and rainbow six siege) and they all work well.

I'm redownloading it now :)

thanks for the reply
