Armor or Protection From Elites? [PVE]

Which should I invest?

you want as much armor as possible, if you PvE then yes you could use protection from elites but it's not needed. I would go for damage to elites over protection.

just my opinion and i'm far from an elite player. but the way I think it works is if I can shred the elite in seconds then what is the point of protection

I suggest armor

If im not mistaken the higher your "Armor" the less % of damage reduction it grants. So the Protection vs elites is much better since you reach "soft cap" of "Armor".

Absolutely incorrect. Armor > everything alse. The 4 pieces that can have armor should have it - as should every stat mod you use (until the dev's fix it (hopefully in 1.6) - nothing else matters...)

Armor > Enemy Armor Damage > Damage to Elites. The rest is not signifigant enough to worry about.

man if you roll your holster for 650 armor it grants you maybe 3% damage redution, but if you roll protecion vs elites 4% than 4>3

Ok, maybe that's true - but not all mobs are elite, so is your 1% really that big of a difference? Against normal mobs, you'd be losing 3% mitigation... So that's why you always go Armor.

yes not all mobs are elite, but the cap of Armor is 70% damage reduction at Tier 5 world and maybe Protection vs elites works overcap or atleast mine armor is 59% and protection vs elites 11% so i have total 70% damage reduction at T5.
So just my advice - roll both Pr. vs elites and armor on your gear especially on chests.

I tihkn marcostyle explained in a video that armor here is the better choice with the way armor scales right now. By taking protection from elites you become more vulnerable to any enemy that isn't elite and on top of that you actually take more damage from elites compared to if you were to take the armor
