insufficient memory early in game on sshcrack 22

So I'm very new to this, and I'm progressing along and now I can't get the sshcrack 22 to load on the first mission (the guy's bedroom, where you're supposed to delete some logs). It keeps saying "error" and "insufficient memory." Clearly, I'm a dork for not being able to figure it out this early but what is this?

You need to close useless notes in order to free memory

The left part of the screen represents memory, when it's full you have no memory left

LOL. I was totally screwed till I read this thread. A simple roadblock that's really effective for all us dumb GUI users where the OS manages the memory.
