Let the trace run down, deal with the consequences and then reply to the contract email.

You can hack all ports.
That will reset the timer to change your ip after each successful hack.
But i found nothing interesting on the server

there seems to be a bug with the mission system where if you have another mission going and try to reply to that email it won't work .. you are either going to have to wait for a patch and hope you don't have to restart or just restart and finish that mission ASAP ..HOWEVER if you manage to find a work around PLEASE SHARE IT

how the heck do you change your IP?
[marneus] Aug 14, 2015 @ 2:50am
@Muskie: The failsafe mode will ask you to connect to your ISP. Connect to the ip of your ISP (don't search for the ISP on the node map, just type "connect ISP_IP"), hack it, search for your IP and click on Assign new IP.

Getting the mission "Check out a suspicious server" will lead you to the CCC server, which will track you in about 3 seconds, once it tracks you, you'll get the "Redline mission" where you gotta hack *fast* into your ISP server and change your IP from there. After you've done the mission, you'll be able to change your IP as often as you like from your ISP server.

Ran into a problem in this. could not connect to isp.
My solution was to unsintall steam/game remove cloud sync reinstall and start again..

I got it, Thanks guys. Managed to clear everything else. Except getting int that actual server, lol...

The Best way to complete this is to Wait for the failsafe to start and connect to 68.144.93.18 Witch is the ISP Mananagement server and there you can change your ip and get away safe. :steamhappy:

You can just start trying to break in DC and hand the mission in or

The password is honeypot. The password can and will change if you attempt to break in

If you're extremely lazy and all you care about is the honey theme and you don't want to go through the hassle of cracking the server, you can edit your save file to give yourself more trace time. Go into your Hacknet folder, accounts, open your save file with Wordpad. Then Ctrl + F and type "honeypot01", just underneath it should say "traceTime=2.5" ... Change this value to 999. Save the file. Enjoy.

You can hack the CCC Hacksquad Filedump legitimately, without editing your game or abusing disconnects. Also, you don't need to be traced for the mission to complete; just DCing in time works.
