You don't need to overload a proxy. Check your log files, there should be another IP that connected to you, besides the proxy server.

oh thanks! I was trying to hack the ip connected to that one. was going after him instead of just getting gui back.

Yes I had deleted all the sys files on his proxy cause the txt file he left under /home said to not mess up his proxy lol. so i had to restart but im already past it now.

There is a second source you can use! Restarting at that point probably wasn't necessary.

The 'scan' command will remind you that your own system starts connected to another machine, one that you should already have root on, and you can connect to that too. Technically you can connect to any IP that has a machine on it, but unless you kept a record of the ones you had root on this is literally a shot in the dark.

Yeah, I read this form once Naix had crashed my system and was unable to find the correct way to overcome him. It is like Vandalite said... you have to scan your system from the cmd and then find the Enlightened Solutions system and then copy their x-server.sys and reboot using their server. Once it had all been rebooted, the game was easy sauce. Well done, Hacknet. That was an enjoyable challenge.

Could someone answer the original question, please? While the discussion in this thread did get me a needed answer (I MAY have overzealously deleted the /sys files on that proxy server of Naix's because his text file told me not to), and I appreciate that help, it'd be really interesting to see if you can get into Naix's machine from terminal alone.

I'm 99% sure you can't set a shell to overload from the terminal.

Oh man. I also was trying to "go after him". But the solution was right in my face. LOL

Only if you use comshell from Labyrinths.

Guys what they fail to tell you which I had to figure out myself is that if you find Naix's ip address from your logs file, you simply connect to his IP using the connect command then sshcrack his port 22 go into his sys folder and using the scp command, copy Naix's x-server.sys file to your system and simply REBOOT using the reboot command and the full GUI reappears.

Have fun!

Actually you need ComShell not OpShell. ComShell -o starts overloading. OpShell is for saving your currently open shells and opening them back up fast.
