I've not encountered it, but I can tell the part of the problem.

The problem is graphics related, either your graphics ship does not support a needed feature, you've set a graphic feature your graphics chip does not support, or your using a resolution that causes a problem and need to edit the config file.

It's not the resolution, so this computer's chip must not support it. I'm using a computer I don't usually, when I get around to it I'll try it on my usual computer. Thanks!

Hello, redfacedone.
You may try to use the Hacknet XNA-Branch. It will solve most crash problems.
I will provide a step-by-step precedure for you.

1. Rightclick on Hacknet in your Steam library.
2. Click "Properties".
3. Choose the "Beta" Tab.
4. Insert the betacode hacknetxnabranch into the textbox.
5. Hit "Check Code".
6. Check in the Dropdown menu if you can find the Hacknet XNA-Branch.
7. Click on the XNA-Branch option.
8. New gamefiles will be downloaded.
9. After downloading try to start Hacknet, and see if it works.

Please give a short reply if it worked, otherwise may try to give more informations about your Hardware such as Graphicscard and CPU.

Greetings,

No suitable graphics card found. Could not find a Direct3D device that supports the XNA Framework HiDef profile. Verify that a suitable graphics device is installed. Make sure the desktop is not locked, and that no other application is running in full screen mode. Avoid running under Remote Desktop or as a Windows service. Check the display properties to make sure hardware acceleration is set to Full.

This is an old laptop, not my main computer, my main is offline right now but the one I'm using has it's graphics handled by a Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family which doesn't sound terribly good or useful.
