Idea: IRC chat

Didn't Uplink have a functional IRC client that actually let you talk to other players? I wonder how easy it would be to implement it in this game.

It should be rather easy, but security actually becomes a problem at that point, seeing as you have to implement all of the security features that other clients have already added, but in a way that still works within hacknet. Although I must admit it would be pretty nice, there's the main problem of how would it work? Since I'm fairly certain the "server" is unloaded when you disconnect (think like the clicker game) you'd be sitting in the irc server the whole time, and at that point you might as well just use a real IRC client with more features ;)

not bad but.. the dev already implimented a irc chat for the first dlc where you use it to 'cordinate' with other hackers in the game

There's a pinned post saying that Multiplayer is coming in October/November some time, maybe it'll come bundled with the Labyrinth DLC and IRC will be the way you communicate with your opponents/allies?
