soft_oal.dll?
Whenever I try to load Hacknet now, the DOS window (or whatever it is) spits out :

OpenAL not found! Need FNA.d11. config? Unhandled Exception: System. D11NotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'soft_oal.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 8x8887887E) at microsoft.Xna.Framework.SDL2 FNAPlatform.CreateALDevice() at microsoft.Xna.Framework.Audio.AudioDevice.Initialize( ) at microsoft.Xna.Framework.FrameworkDispatcher.Update( ) at microsoft.Xna.Framework.Game..ctor() at Hacknet.Game1..ctor() at Hacknet.Program.Main(String[] args)

The thing is, soft_oal.dll is already in Hacknet's folder. What's going on? The two culprits I can think of for this issue are the Windows 10 Creator's Update, and a Java update - several of my other games aren't running at all (they'll go from "running" to "syncing", and then nothing).

Code: hacknetxnabranch

Now it's doing the same thing as the other games: "running", "syncing", then nothing.

I too have this problem with Win10. Anyone have a solution?

I ultimately did a system restore to roll back to before the Creators Update. That fixed the problem.

Havin' the same problem with creators update, yet didn't play the game before the update, so I'm not sure if the update has to do something with it, but right now I can't start the game, getting the same message as Serenade and I've got the creators update of Windows, dev?

Try going into Steam's Hacknet folder, open the _CommonRedist folder and run the DotNet and XNA installers you'll find in there. Also make sure there is a FNA.dll and FNA.dll.config file in your Hacknet folder after doing so.
