To put a little context to it, there are 4 full games planned in this universe, Kona being the first one. It means that the story is not necessarily over. However, we didn't want to make a cliffhanger with it, so there is a bit of an end to the story.
We feel that a guy like Carl in real life probably would have tried anything to kill the beast first, but when he felt he wouldn't succeed, he would say "screw it, I'm outta here!", especially with his client dead. It felt more realistic to us for the character to react this way. We obviously know that not everyone will like it though, so we really appreciate any feedback about the ending. It is our first game and there is always place to do things better in the future :)
Was really disapointing with a flare gun in the game - you have to walk across entire map to find it and bunch of ammo for it. But by the time you'll find it you've explored almost every area on the map and there is no normal wolves left to try it on and it's useless againts everything else in the game =_= I was hoping for some normal wolves to attack at night so i could test it but it never happened. Also who was the crossbow guy hunter? Character from the future game?
Why windigo didn't just frezze the water? He was right there... It's almost like Carl didn't escaped but monster spared him... even if he killed everyone else... and tried to kill Carl too....
It also leaves room for discussion as other people may have a different view on it through experiencing it differently.
