Kona

Just finished the game, don't read spoilers duh
Feeling empty, is this the end???

I feel there could have been more to the ending, like I understand how that creature wanted to exact it's revenge basically killing everyone that was involved in that hunting accident. I was either hoping you'd find the doctor and bring him in since you find out he's murdered a murderer that was supposed to pay you. but was surprised that. I thought you had to kill the creature and the games over, but i literally just ran and survived.

In my defence its my own opinion of the ending okay

I would read this: http://steamcommunity.com/app/365160/discussions/0/133259956009180596/ which pretty much can describe what the ending is about :)

Thank you for your feedback :)

To put a little context to it, there are 4 full games planned in this universe, Kona being the first one. It means that the story is not necessarily over. However, we didn't want to make a cliffhanger with it, so there is a bit of an end to the story.

We feel that a guy like Carl in real life probably would have tried anything to kill the beast first, but when he felt he wouldn't succeed, he would say "screw it, I'm outta here!", especially with his client dead. It felt more realistic to us for the character to react this way. We obviously know that not everyone will like it though, so we really appreciate any feedback about the ending. It is our first game and there is always place to do things better in the future :)

I cant seem to beat him. No matter how far I run, how many med kits or painkillers I use, he gets ahold of me...

He is too slow to catch you you only need to deal with the wolves and run.

Was really disapointing with a flare gun in the game - you have to walk across entire map to find it and bunch of ammo for it. But by the time you'll find it you've explored almost every area on the map and there is no normal wolves left to try it on and it's useless againts everything else in the game =_= I was hoping for some normal wolves to attack at night so i could test it but it never happened. Also who was the crossbow guy hunter? Character from the future game?

Why windigo didn't just frezze the water? He was right there... It's almost like Carl didn't escaped but monster spared him... even if he killed everyone else... and tried to kill Carl too....

The ending made sense to me and it seemed like a valid response for Carl to get away when he did. Were you actually able to go to Hamilton's mansion? I felt a bit bad I'd been seeing it on the map the entire game but then it ended before I had been anywhere near it. Did I just go to the sanctuary too early or will we be going there in future games?

No, the mansion cannot be accessed in the game. It's mostly to show that Carl is going towards the mansion, referencing the reason he got in the village in the first place (to investigate vandalism perpetrated on Hamilton's mansion).

There is a road marked on the map leading to the mansion which is blocked off, and there's no way to bypass it. ...Will this be unblocked?? Seems 1/4 of the map is unavailable, apart from other loose ends like Caribou tracks mentioned by Carl.

For now this part is not accessible, by design. Many are asking to visit the manor, and we've that on our bucket list of things we'll likely do through DLC or a game update.

I just finished the game and i liked it. I got interested in the characters and learning about them and their relationships to each other. I appreciate that there were other ways to get rid of wolves besides killing them. The treasure hunt and the chess game were nice details. I was also really looking foward to exploring the rest of the map, especially those other roads, i thought there was gonna be more about the Wendigo there and Native people, and more about the mystery journal's owner maybe. The one thing i'd say i had mixed feelings about in the ending is that for a game that is for the most part about exploring, looking for details, going back and forth and pacing yourself to survive, the ending was just running. It wasn't bad, you've been encountering what happens to people that can't get away and it makes sense what you say about Carl just wanting to get out of there, it was just very different to how the game felt up to that point, like a very sudden shift in pace that for a second there made me feel like i must have missed something else i could do in that situation. But all in all it was very enjoyable, the eerie atmosphere, driving the truck, the characters!! It was so satisfying to see the warmth go up after lighting a fire, the contrast between being inside and being outside was really great.

I do like it when loose ends are left, not everything has to be a neat little package.
It also leaves room for discussion as other people may have a different view on it through experiencing it differently.

The 3 other games haven't been released yet. For now, it's too soon to talk about any release date, but as soon as we are ready to make announcements, we'll do it through social media and here in the forums!

3 other games? :) Interesting. I was just missing what I mentioned above. Please send us out far north with a dog team and a sled :)
