It is just 6 cubic textures you need, so basically you can use any skyboxgenerator there is.

The problem I'm having is cutting up the image in my graphic program & when I google, I don't see many skybox generators.

I found this site though

Do I just cut sections out of the image out to form the cross but the problem there is, there's no way to customize a selection tool box to the dimensions I need for the cut, which would actually be a cool feature in any program.

Yes, any image would work. Just make sure to split it into 6 square images representing all sides of a cube.
