Multiplayer Question

What can you do in multiplayer in this game? do you select an empire and play it vs other humans and computer player?

Its a little backwards but you select your empire and then join multiplayer. Then you have a bunch of different mission types the host can choose from and each player can have up to 3 ships. I believe there can be up to 6 players and you can choose to limit ships available via era and or ship point cost. Hope this helps :).

I have a followup question. Has the game code been changed to integrate MP into Steam? That is, can i meet new opponents through Steam match making?

I'm going to presume that's a strong no currently, as people are also complaining about crashes & compatibility issues with regards to getting this working on Windows 10.

It sounds like they've only packaged the original Gold Edition game, and released it via Steam.

all startrek games i believe ran on gamespy servers which that company went defunct about 7 to 10 years ago. If there is a project, it would have to be a fan based module that allows for the server to be reworked into a format that windows can run it.

Would like to join your group to play multiplayer for SFC2 Gold. New to Steam, an unavoidable hazard. Do we still do TCP/IP? Anyone set up a Dynaverse server?
