Xelerius us a great resource for transcendence mods, although, I'm not quite sure why george didnt enable workshop for the steam version....

There's a few places:

-The Osaka Playership extension by Wolfy is hosted on multiverse, and Wolfy has provided an alternative download for Steam users that I put in this thread.

-The Official Transcendence Forum[forums.kronosaur.com] has development announcements from some modders (like me!) as well as links to non-xelerus mods (some people use github and dropbox). Look in the modding sections.

-Xelerus.de is the old mods site. It's currently planned to phase it out and replace it because it's no longer maintained and is starting to become incompatible with modern systems (yeah, it's old). Many mods are out of date, but some people still put new stuff there. The problem with xelerus is that the main bug hits the upload system. And once it hits someone, they can't upload anything. So some modders (like me) have to put our stuff up in forum posts instead of Xelerus like we used to.

-Steam Workshop is on the list of things for George to add in, but it wasn't possible to implement in time for the release (Transcendence uses some very old systems that are tricky to make work with Steam's finer bits). Now that the DX9 upgrade is finished for 1.6.2 (not released yet, but the tracker is spitting out resolved tickets nice and fast) and the overlay is working....and some critical issues left from 1.6.1 are resolved.... it's likely to be a lot easier for him to get the time to work out a Workshop setup.

All this stuff (plus an installation guide and what the difference is between Registered and Unregistered content) is on my steam guide here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=487572138

There have been a few people having issues with getting mods running on the Steam version. This seems to be configuration issues, so if you do have problems, let us know over on the official forums (tech support board is probably the best place).
