As to how the AI actually plays? Don't recall, I played novice/adept once or twice just because you have to to unlock the next one (I think).
Your right
What?
This makes no sense.
I see I might have phrased my earlier comment poorly (and also written some things I before thought were true, but now I'm definitely sure weren't), and I'd like to rephrase that:
Currently there are some bugs that make the Practice bots get way too strong. While you might have earlier been able to beat the Expert bot, you might now have problems beating even the Novice bot. Whether it's the AI or the decks that are too strong/advanced, I do not know, since I've not had this bug myself. This bug does not occur to everybody, in fact the majority of players don't have problems like this at all. This can not be fixed (as far as I know) by anyone else than the devs themselves.
I'd recommend anyone who get this bug to write a ticket to Bethesda Support, and they will have to notice it, and hopefully somehow fix it.
Hopefully they will fix it soon, and you won't have to delete your game.
