This isn't Hearthstone, you don't have class specific cards, it is much more a matter of what cards come up for the class (and now house) you choose and if you are good enough to know to grab them and use them to their best advantage.
It is basically a game of rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spock. Certain classes have certain keywords to help them beat other classes, but unless you know which classes and houses you are going to face off against, and they all happen to share the same colors, you can't pick which class will be good.
That works well for me but others prefer a different class. You might end up doing better with something completely different as it just fits your style.
i have found out rally seems realy strong in the arena. i havn't used it in rank/casual.
I don't play Vs. a whole lot, and not at all since HoM dropped. I would probably avoid the tri-color decks if you can, just because it will really dilute your card choices. Decks here tend to be more aggro too (easier to build for than trying to get all your control pieces in a draft), but not nearly as much so as Solo Arena. Vs. is more about playing something you're comfortable with, as class doesn't determine win rate at all.
Thus, the meta in Arena tends to be aggressive, and it's in your best interests to just go with that. I've had several 7-1 and 7-0 Arena runs, even at the highest level, just by playing aggro and knowing how to game the lanes, making fundamentally sound trades, and timing rune breaks properly. Very, very basic stuff wins much more than anything else there.
