Best way to farm for cards/gems for free and fast?
New here and was wondering what is the best way to get cards fast? Don't want to cave in and pour money into this game just yet.

I will try twitch streaming for the random drops later on since I haven't done that yet. But also I had decent luck with Solo Arena and they give ok prizes. Casual and Ranked are ok but they give you rewards per 3 wins and I've been getting owned left and right with these premade decks.

which method is the best way then?

10x (30 wins) Casual/Ranked win rewards is the cap for that mode, and 300 gems (20 Expert or 30 Adept, 60 Novice isn't worth it) Practice win rewards is that cap. Be prepared to spend a good 1.5-2 hours farming the AI for max shards, depending on your deck and your luck (aggro is best).

It depends on what you want, they all give different reward types.

Just build a decent aggressive type deck and spam casual games for wins. get 500 gold and buy one of the pre made Set packs.

Looks like aggro decks are good for getting rewards quick! Thanks! Almost at the cap for gold

Not really, they are the fastest deck type though, but they don't always lead to a win. Which means no money from that round

Yeah but they are easy (read: cheap) to craft for the most part and they let you win or lose games quickly, which means more games per hour. I'd rather play more games in the same amount of time with a slightly lower win rate if I'm just after the gold/card rewards. You obviously want a higher win rate if you're looking to climb the ladder.

They are cheap, I was making what I said known because this guy seemed extremely enthusiastic about aggro, so I showing the flaw in it.

Fair enough. They are good in general but they can be countered; they definitely are not the be all end all, unless you're talking about farming Practice AIs.

The trick to beating the premade decks is to learn their weaknesses. Once you get a better handle on the game you will learn more about it as you play.

Yah but you end up losing brain cells playing them. Very few decisions are necessary for them in comparison to other deck archetypes.

And climbing the ladder faster comes at a price. You will face better players who don't lose to aggro, and then you're stuck at a higher rank than you should be with a deck you might not want to play.

I see you are very scientific and i am sure you will have stats to back up the loss of braincells.

Aggro does have decisions to make. Midrange is just curving out and playing best thing on curve, ramp is playing turn 3 tree minder into hist mage, control is playing turn 3 or 4 hive defender. Aggro has to maximise damage, maximise magicka, know what lane to play in.

Climbing the ladder faster doesnt come at a price. It's roughly the same amount of games but shorter. It's not about playing better players, its about playing decks that are favoured v aggro.

How the hell do you get stuck at "a higher rank than you should be"? If you win you should be that rank.
Zsrai Aug 16, 2017 @ 11:08am
Aggro has a lot of decisions to make, they are all just front loaded into the first, say, 6 turns while Control is back loaded into turns 12-18, f. ex. Saying that it's a mindless, idiot deck style is completely wrong. The skill floor is lower, but the skill ceiling is just as high; this makes it easier to pick it up and do well enough but just as hard to do well at top levels of play.

The most "brain dead" decks are either Ramp (Scout especially, with extra ramp) since if they have the draw they just auto play the ramp cards without worrying about the board until turn 7 or 8 usually. Midrange decks can also be pretty "brain dead" in that sense since you just make tempo plays on curve until you drop your Atros on turn 8-12 (if you're lucky with draws and your opponent).

If you get to a point where you lose to anti-aggro decks consistently, that's not because you got to a point where you are punching above your skill level but because the meta shifted and people realized that there are many more aggro decks and want to stop losing to them.
