there is no advantage for COSMETIC
You can own 6 (3 of each) but you can only use 3 per deck still. It's just a cosmetic difference.
The advantage is they look cooler. Foil/Premium cards have never had an advantage, they just look cooler. They are sort of a hold over from physical CCGs where you could sell or trade them for a lot more money than the regular versions. Even here you can soul trap them for 3 or 4 times the value you'd get from the regular version IIRC.
They are just to show off and collect, that is their purpose, but they can be helpful for free to play players or anyone that wants to further their collection. For example I sold a premium legendary I already had 3 of, it was worth 1200 soul gems, a normal legendary is worth 400 sell value so it was a lot more and allowed me to buy 3 epics from the gems I got from it.
