Like many others here, I suspect we fell in love with Medieval Total War and Rome Total War and after Medieval Total War 2 the games have gotten larger in scope yet met with problems time after time. Now we are at Warhammer, a title I'm _very_ keen to play and want to see be a great product but I've been burned by Rome 2 and and Empire TW.
I hope I am wrong and a week one purchase is merited - otherwise, see first paragraph.
Got Rome 2 emperor edition in a sale with all dlc under £10 so why would I pay £50 for a game with 5 or more £7 dlcs?
It's just greedy at this point, if development costs that much then it's unsustainable.
With CA you have to take the long view, because they show commitment to improving their games long after release. This is also meant to be the first part of a trilogy of linked games. We also have the option to buy the gold versions at vastly reduced prices with a bit of patience - by the time I picked up RTW2 it was a very much improved game.
I am not someone who usually preorders but sometimes you have to be true to your school, and this is the game that has always been on the top of my wish list of games İ would like to be see made. Buona Fortuna CA - if anyone can do this title justice its your team.
Im still hyped, but this helped make me a very worried man.
And if all of the DLC packs when first relased bring the game's total to $100 or more? I'll pay whatever they want. You can spend $100 on one date with no guarantee of return, but a Total War game with tens of thousands of hours put into its development that could give you dozens of hours of entertainment isn't worth the same amount? Then I entreat you to develop your own Warhammer video game. Now please continue living in the past with your 'muh rome 2 launch' spam below.
