Anti-savescumming function?
Is there an anti-savesumming function in the game?

I have a 75% chance to destroy walls of a settlement with my Banshee, yet everytime I reload the save she fails.

AFAIK Expeditions: Conquistador had something like that, so you don't reload a save again and again to get no negative camp events when resting.

Does TW:W have something like this for hero actions?

If yes, that sucks. If I don't want to reload saves I could play some Ironman mode (if the game had one), but I don't want to. I do enjoy a mode without reloading in some games (like my favorite CKII), but it's no fun for me in TW:W.

From my own experience in single and multiplayer campaigns, yes, there is anti-save scumming functionality, but not for everything. For example, if you critically failed an attack on a hero, reloading the save will ensure that you critically fail again. However if you lose an auto-resolve, depending on the odds, the next auto-resolve result could change. Another interesting case is when you're awarded a random hero unit in the campaign (Beastmen shaman (beast/death/wild) for example. Reloading the autosave can change the type of hero that you are given.

As for hero actions, it is possible to save scum them by saving, taking an action, and then reloading and not taking any action to avoid a critical failure/waste of money, but do remember that even failures will grant XP.

Yes, I noticed that some thing can change. For example followers and items awarded after a battle can be different, as can be random events. That's why I sometimes accept phyrric victories, if I get a really useful item.

Because of that I think the mechanism with the hero actions is crap. It would be better to allow savescumming completely but only award achievements in an ironman mode with a single save that autosaves after actions, turns and battles, just like CKII does it.

I think the rolls for auto functions and actions are decided beforehand so eg: if an action you do first with 50% chance would fail, if you reload your save and try an action with 70% success it might succeed, and the 2nd action might have better odds, so try doing stuff in different orders if you plan on save scumming (eg: instead of wall smashing go use another hero to do smth else first where it either has higher % chance of success or where it doesnt matter if it fails)

Thanks for the hint! Will try that in future turns.
