Massive upkeep after taking a city as Bretonnia
I've started a Bretonnia game as the king, and as soon as I take Mousllin I have massive upkeep issues, going from postive like +30 gold to negative 2000. Is this a bug or something i'm neglecting?

Did you move your knights from someone with knightly vows to someone who doesn'? I did that once and saw my income drop drastically.

You moved alberic from bordeleaux with his economic buffs for local province too early

The OP clearly says the game is with Louen.

Probably has the Land Magnate traits on his heroes. Bretonnia heroes always seem to get the farmer>land magnate traits that boost local income by 30%.

If you suddenly move those heroes off your income regions, then you'll see a drastic decrease.
I think the no knightly vows answer is the solution, Louen was wounded in the fight for Mousllin so he was replaced by a generic lord. I didn't check either of their traits but if he has traits that lowers knightly upkeep, then this checks out

Louen has all vows unlocked from the start, if that's what you mean.

Yeah, it's going to be because Louen was wounded, no doubt about that. You really, really want to do everything you can to ensure that Louen never goes out-of-action, because it's kinda devastating. Since he starts with all the Vows unlocked, he starts the game with those sweet Grail Knights, who will immediately become catastrophically expensive no matter who you replace him with. And if you lose him in the early game before you've gained enough Chivalry, your new Lord won't even have the Knightly Vow and ALL of your cavalry will suddenly become untenably expensive.
