Game screen freezes every 1 - 10 seconds.

Got a strange issue:

Starting from the second I enter the campaign map, the game screen will freeze for every 1 -10 second even during battle (the audio will continue though). But when I return to desktop and jump right back to the game with Alt + Tab, the game will continue to run for another 1 - 10 second and freeze again. I am jumping in and out for 100+ times every hour

I am having AW R15 (i7-6700, 8GB RAM and GTX 970M) and the issue exists even when I am running on low graphic setting. Anyone going through similar things and/or have some possible fixes please? I have already update/downgrade the Bios/chipsets/graphic drivers but no luck...

Hi, I am having the exact same problem! I'm running the game with the same graphics card 970M on a monitor connected via HDMI to my MSI laptop.
I disabled the laptop screen so it's not dual display anymore, I also verified the game cache, updated graphics driver and chose to lock cursor to screen in Controls.
The game still freezes every ten seconds and I have to alt-tab in order to get it running again.
Any advice is appreciated!

You need to run the game in window mode. That apparently helped me and a few others people having the exact same problem. I also tried calling Alienware tech support and them claimed it is TW problem. Hopefully a fix will be coming out soon.

1 point to add, even under window mode, the game still freezes for about 0.5s once a while but resume itself without any input from me. That could be because I only got 8Gb of RAM. but it is not that annoying and I choose to just ignore that.

Windowed mode runs for me as well...keep in mind that now I restrict myself to 30 minute sessions since others using windowed mode reported hard crashed at around 45 min to 1 hr mark.

Thanks for the input guys. I restarted Steam in Offline mode and that solved the problem. But I bought Warhammer to play online so what's the point?!!
Need a fix soon!

ram isnt the issue i have a 8 core so thats fine seems the game may be based on an internet connection even while in solo for some reason
