Left alt,strg,shift not working
I nearly went mad trying to move/turn my forces with ALT+Mouse. Then I tried F2/Altgr and it works!

Why does warhammer not recognize the left sided keys alt,strg... ? In Linux itself all keys are working. Right now I workaround this by pressing F2 but it´s not very comfortable in fights.

Running Linux Manjaro, Kernel 4.9

Did you ever figure out a solution to this? I'm facing this same problem.

Edit: we found a solution, see the next posts.

For anyone stumbling upon this problem, I found an answer:
You need to disable the "Alt" key functionality in KDE or Gnome. Normally, the "Alt" key works as a modifier that enables you to move and resize windows by pressing "Alt" and dragging a mouse button press. This feature is not allowing the "Alt" key to register in the game.

To disable in KDE, go to:
System Settings -> Window Management -> Window Behavior -> Window Actions
In the dropdown where it says "modifier" select "Meta" instead of "Alt".

Thirded. This also works for Medieval 2 Total War. Strangely enough I got the issue of L ALT not working only after some game error, it worked previously. Changing the button responsible for chaning window placement/location works as a fix. Alternatively R ALT could be used in the game if L ALT is not working.
