Book of grudges is just annoying.

I've practically ended the game, but the book of grudges still contains 3 measly assassinate missions. Considering the AI loves to spam assassins on you, evey time I close one grudge another pops up. It was already a long playthrough where I cleared out the north of evil. But now I can't be bothered with the last three grudges.

It doesn't help that thanes and other dwarven agents are late game and the AI tends to spam his and so by the end of the game are very high level, making assassinate missions a trifiling affair.

Taking back stolen lands seems like an okay grudge. But assassin for assassin is just stupid, dwarves aren't assassins. Did I mention dwarfs are slow m-fers. CA should make it so you can defeat an enemy in combat to fix your grudge.

I'm so frustrated you have no idea. I just want to finish the game.

Maybe there should be a way to close the trifiling grudge missions for pay or 10 turns of stability loss or something.

Quit the game and call it a win then. Its a singleplayer game, so it doesnt matter anyways. I called my VC campaign a win after beating the hordes of chaos back, and moved on to a new playthrough.

With that said i do think you have a point. Some of the grudges in the book of grudges seems awfully petty and i can only imagine the frustration of being so close to the goal, but being stopped by something rather redundant. Good job on finishing your Dwarf campaign though.

I got a grudge I couldn't finish complete since the faction was killed off. I played the game a bit longer and started a new empire camp when the chaos had finished. Other people have had problems like that so I imagine the devs will do some work on this.

Sadly the same thing can happen during the quest chains, you can be asked to destroy some stuff belonging to a faction/race that has been wiped out. Cannot see why they didn't just make it so the quests/grudges where not so specific and if they are impossible then just skip to the next part or resolve the grudge...
