I'm not sure CA beta tested its game long enough
Terrorgheist.
Your welcome.
Then it isn't just me using them wrong? Because I got pretty mad when I went through the trouble of building some up and then noticed they just died to basically everything. I get that they have the Slayer oath but still...
These puppies are middle finger to almost everything save for giant / copter .
I can't speak for Dwarves since I haven't played them, but it seems to me that when it comes to large stuff with them, you just want to focus fire with them. I can atest to the Terrorgheist being wonderful for singling out big targets and destroying them however.
Terrorgheists should have the 'duelist' note like the Banshee does. If they don't have back up in the middle of a scrap then yeah, they're less then good. Get them one on one with something big and you're set.
I started trying to use them more as cavalry later on but eventually replaced them with stuff I considered far more useful. Killing was not my issue with the Dwarves by this time. I just thought it was funny because I'd have my little dudes stomping around trying for a flank so they don't get smashed in active combat. Entertaining to say the least but not always useful.
What COULD be a reasonable counter, as shown in the battle of black fire pass, is magical vortex spells or projectiles. Instead they're useless, you're better off using hexes on the enemies top tier troops or sniping enemy heroes with OP single-target damage hexes.
Yeah orcs need morale and Dwarves need better monster slayers...
So when i say "every unit in the game" you think im just so retarded that i didnt think of trying the second biggest best unit? give me some credit.
just to recap, i tried EVERY UNIT IN THE GAME, a full roster of terrorgheists upgraded to the same veterancy get absolutely stomped by full unit cap of giant spiders.
The vargulf was actually a better counter against the spiders.
Also, when i was doing these tests it was AI vs AI so my faulty tactics were not to blame.
i selected a lord with no other units and just kept him way back to watch the outcomes.
I realize this situation is completely rediculous but the point is that no unit can match the spiders one vs one.
Spiders always get to the the artillery before it dies, rendering the artillery useless. My only point in all of this is that the spiders either have too much hp or do too much damage. A green skin army with the right unit combination can literally not be defeated if it has three or more giant spiders in it.
