easy empire camp is to hard
i tryed to build armies, but get wiped when the empire secessionist are far to powerful. after 55 turns reapeatly making armies and getting wiped. only two citys my capital and one captured city, the empire secessionist invaded with 6 full armies and lost everything.

while i made a encampment to stop the secessionist from killing them pre-maturely. i tryed attacking a empty town or one with low army but then get swamped by overpowerd units. i don't have horses or artillery but they do. due to the bad recruiting that i got to get a general before i can make units its very limiting when swaping units and have to leave my towns to supply the broken armies. nothing easy about the game other then getting ruined by aggressive ai's that don't care whos territory there in, same result after 4 campains only diffrance is the turns it takes to defeat me

you cant just sit back and wait with the secessionist, you have to be more agressive. if they arent dead by turn 55, you have done something very very wrong
stock up on swordsmen or spearmen, crossbows when you upgrade aldtorf with a level 2 barracks, and just keep going after the secessionists until you have Rikeland secured, then stop and breath.

i played on hard with empire and all i did. was engage their army on first turn. build up to 15+ after take their citys without any struggle. there should be no difficulty here till after. then the game actually begins

I think its all in the way you play. Some parts of the campaign seem written in. Ive started vamps 3x and there is always an ork army setting up raiding camp to the east of my land. Goes away after a turn

easy mode, and secessionis one shot my armies when ever i attack them even when i'm not. i have made 20 units but still got mown down. propaly when they got horses i still got sticks and stones. been useing the no upkeep mods to gain the armies quick but didnt make much diffrance, have yet to find a easy mode mod atleast get the option to be easy for me

I'm also struggling with succesionist factions as Empire. I got absolutely rekt by a full cavalry army, even though I had a fair amount of spears to defend myself.

Well i too have noticed weird balancing issues with all factions.

chaos - even ally or "awoken' tribes, can have elite units (like giants) before you do, as they grow swiftly and you grow very very slow.
So you're always behind somehow.. which feels odd but this could be me.

Empire : only a few turns in, like 10 maybe, marienburg, huge army with mortars and pistoliers.
Its weird to see any faction have more advanced units wayyyy faster then you can make or build.

Dwarfs : seems actually fairly balanced, if anything they can be quickly overpowerd with grudgethrowers or whatever they're called, at the start.

Greenskins.. no comments here i enjoy playing them as they're funny as hell. (say my name!)
And because of the mod i use, i somehow received a vassal request from a dwarf faction, which i accepted cause thats just too funny.

Vampires : i thought they would be the worst but i find them to be the easiest to play, despite the lack of missile/artillery units.
And progressed with them by far the furthest. (i use conquer all + diplomacy mod)

Can't believe I logged in to do this... however it is both the easiest and the hardest. The RNG is total crap for their start. I have seen easier starts as empire on harder difficulties than on normal or easy. Some starts the Secessionists will out tech and man you in turn 10 and on. Others they will never get rolling. It is by far one of the hardest starts based purely on RNG of what is going on around you. Has nothing to do with any skill involved.

The only way to ensure a good start is to totally do nothing and manipulate all of the factions around them to support you and go to war with them. If not they will just sit around and you will lose in about 50 turns. In game called Total War it is sad that you must Romance the Plethora of Kingdoms.

You are doing something very very very wrong.

On very hard and legendary, I usually have all of reikland(your starting province, of which 3 settlements are occupied by rebels) under my thumb within the first 5-6 turns.
Turn 1 - beat up rebels to your south, upgrade barracks building in altdorf(you will later scrap this one once the one in helmgart hits tier 2) Recruit 3 free company militia or swordsmen(personally, i recommend militia for volkmar, swordsmen for franz/gelt).
Turn 2 - Take Grunburg, leave the cow pens to get reiklands pop rising quickly, you want tier 3 and 2nd level of defenses(for walls) as quick as possible, especially in Eilhart and Helmgart once you have them. Occupy only, do not loot or any of that stuff, its not worth it money wise and you get some replenishment this way. Recruit 3 more free company militia(volkmar)/swordsmen(gelt/franz).
Turn 3 - Move west to attack Helmgart, sit tight and recruit 3 crossbowmen(franz/gelt)/flagellants(volkmar), choose a tech, I would recommend morale on high difficulties, but if playing on easy either of the other 2 are good too.
Turn 4 - Take Helmgart, do not destroy barracks even though they are currently redundant, purchase, recruit some mix of xbows, swords and flagellants(once again lord and early loadout dependent, flagellants probably a must for volkmar but swords, flagellants or xbows can all be good for gelt/franz.
Turn 5 - Take Eilhart, tada you control Reikland. I suggest getting a new lord+troops to hold Helmgart against beastmen incursion at this point. On lower difficulties it shouldnt be too much of an issue, but you want to be wary of marienburg warmongering, skullsmashers incursions and beastmen from the south, so make sure to keep your big army in Eilhart/Helmgart at this stage.

From here, expand as you please. You can crush the Brettonians down south, occupy Marienburg or take on the VC in the east. Just don't go north, its not worth it and chaos will run rampant there.

use no cheat for ai mod and buf human auto resolve ;p
