How do I limit FPS?

Running the game on ultra, but I keep hitting 400+ fps on the world map and 120+ fps in battle and it's heating my computer needlessly, how do I limit fps? I tried turning on vsync but it did nothing.

Vsync is broken at the moment I think. I don't know what kind of machine you have to hit that FPS in battle. I have a pretty decent machine and during my latest siege battle with my 2 stack army of about 6,000 men I hit 23 fps when breaching the gates.

You can, in the Options Menu of your AMD and your Nvidia Card, cap the Frame Rate.

On Amd it is called Frame Rate Target Control:
Just go into the Radeon Menu/Amd Settings ->Games->Global Settings

I capped mine to 48 FPS, because 60 gets too sluggish, when the Framerate drops

If it's an upper limit shouldn't it have no effect on rates below the limit?

When it drops from 60 to 24, you notice it a more than from 48 to 23.
With Vsync you have more of straight FPS Curve.
If you limit, you have to tweak it a little bit...

Im really fine in the Game with everything above 40 FPS.
