Chaos gathering????

I started a chaos campaign and all of a sudden three chaos gathering armies appear and absolutely crush me... how do i get rid of them/avoid them spawning? Does anyone know? Thanks in advance!

I lost archeon and also ran with my second army to a place deeper in the mountains of the norse. Currently trying to get the tribes behind me.

I just lost Archaeon. Luckily I had a Lord tucked away in Norsca for just such an occaison. I'm hoping the whole world either takes it out or weakens it enough for when Archeon returns.

I ran for a while, then "caught" them near a city, where they got sloppy and seperated, right afterwards another one ran into one of my armies, crushed it (not the archeon one) but got weakened so badly they got destroyed by AI. Wasn't all that bad in the end.

The really crappy part about Chaos Gathering is they don't seem to suffer from attrition the same way my Chaos army does. So they can sit and encamp within distance to aid each other constantly.

I was scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when suddenly the screen went black and then this creepy old man appeared.

They appeared near Essen near my main army under Sigvald. I took 1 turn to sack Essen to get money to last my upkeep, and then marched my ass back to Northen Oblast where I had another army. My sorcerer managed to block the chicken man once or twice. With a bearsonling horde, my 2 armies made easy work of a city before i marched 2 FULL armies to face the bird. I had some chosens, some with halberds and great weapons, chaos warriors, quite a few warhounds, and at least 6 marauders and a hellcannon. Add 1 sorcerer lord and another sorcerer, both with lore of death.

Was able to beat them with a weakened army by sending sigvald and the sorcerers to kill turkeyman. He had lore of metal, and i had a duellist and lots of death magic. His cavalry was distracted by marauder horsemens and hounds, which earlier took out the hell cannons.

Then i focused on the giants wrecking my line with the heroes and lords. The marauders flanked and ended the battle.

Went back north to recuperate but the leftovers of the bird watchers chased. I marched them both up while Kenny Rogers Chicken fan club got distracted for awhile. Came back again with 2 armies to take the 2 armies again and won. By a feather.

I was playing as usual until suddenly the cutscene came up; I'll admit, my first thought was to instantly run away. But when I got close up to his army after chasing me for who knows how long (lol 20/30 turns), I annihilated the Lord of Change's army with the Prince and my ULTIMATE SPAM OF CHOSEN WARRIORS...

So far, this is my fourth encounter with it. (Fourth playthrough).

Chaos Gathering never stood a chance; my hero even 1v1d the Greater Daemon and won, it was so funny. But then again, I'm playing just now and it's spawned TWO ARMIES this time... it's adapting to try and kick my ass. :/
