Wait so you cannot take over the entire map ?
I bought all other total war games and in every single one of them i liked to take over the whole map or at least what i was able to do until my time has ended.

I heard that you cannot do it in this game.

So how does story mode works out if i cannot do it . i am little confused since i pre order today just based on amazing gameplay and how smoo the game runs on twitch streamers. and also i seems to meet req.
I am a fan of warhammer too . but its a little worry me .

Can someone point me to my asnwer ?

This is clearly entitlement. DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO TOTAL WAR IN A TOTAL WAR GAME HUH? /S

You have to remember, it's not just Total war, Warhammer history, is also about pure devour, conquer, rule all, destroy all. Especialy if Chaos are involved, all they do is consume any and everything.

I agree with the current system. Matches the lore. But its nice an unrestricted mod is available for those that think otherwise.

@Mona: CA did a Blog Post which explains their reasons for this new system, you might find it interesting: http://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Regional_Occupation_Blog

(The Blog Post predates the announcement of the mod, just so you know.)

As busc01 said there will be a day 1 mod, but it's worth noting that the game will be designed and balanced around Regional Occupation, so that may have an effect on difficulty and game balance if playing with the mod. I'd say it's worth giving the new system a go before trying the mod, but up to you.

Hope that helps.

All the Best,

Welsh Dragon.

it for sure will be interesting to see how it works out . but it does means the diplomacy system needs to be very depth . but so far what i see i love .i will play it as it is.and if i dont like it i will downalod the mod . but if the game is lore driven and story driven i will stick to it .

Agree with Welsh - worth giving it a go first. Besides, I don't want my Old World to ever be a place where there are no dwarves/orks/vampires etc. That's just here.

I think it will add a new dynamic to the total war series, i look forward to trying it out.
After all orc's and gobblins wouldn't settle in a human settlement, they would raid and sack it then move on to another and the same vice versa.

Dwarves can only live in the mountains as can the gobblins which is tied to the lore, but they can still strike out with armies all over the map if they wish from their mountain homelands.

I suppose it will keep the game challenging as well becuase the different races will still have their homelands and a military powerbase and civilian infrastructure to support/build more armies after you crush a few of them.

Yeah, does look really good.

This blog post is quiet interesting too as it shows where all the different factions will be at the start of the campaign.

http://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Minor_Factions_Blog

Even with Regional Occupation on seems like there will be a good number of lands to conquer and factions to fight. Plus just because they can't conquer your human lands, doesn't mean the Orcs won't want to smash all your stuff and steal you loot. :spacemonster:

And this one I found quite interesting as it shows 3 different CA people's Dwarven campaigns in progress, and how they've played out differently.

Sorry, that's a bit off topic, but I saw earlier in the thread you said you hadn't been following the game and so thought it might help explain RO and why I'm not that concerned about it.

If you want to catch up or find out a bit about the races and Legendary Lords the wiki is a good place: http://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Total_War_WARHAMMER

Very true. There is a decided lack of fantasy creatures in the real world. :spacemonster:

I am happy with the system they have devised for the game. I also like that they will have a mod for the coloring book crowd so everyone can be happy.

If you would have actually look / read the info about this game, it would be clear before buying this game.

Straight out of the box: This is warhammer universe served into total war settings. Meaning that the warhammer universie is kinda the boss into the campaign. Meaning you CANT TAKE OVER THE ENTIRE MAP WITH 1 FACTION. Cause thats not possible in the warhammer lore.

But offcourse there is modding. CA gave Dresden early acces to make a mod, so we COULD TAKE OVER THE ENTIRE MAP WITH 1 FACTION.

So to be short: if you want to do world domination wint one faction, you'll have to download the mod from the steam workshop. I have no idea when this mod will be finished, but they are working free on it.
