However, Total War: Warhammer looks really, really promising and I hope we'll finally get another superb realization of the franchise on PC after 18 years!
Youre judging it through a modern lens, remember this was 1996. And whilst it wasnt one of the greats (like xcom 1 and civ 2) it was a good game that is historically significant for influencing the total war battle engine. I liked the cutscenes,voice acting and music as a warhammer fan i was in my element.
Afterwards came Dark Omen which was a great game in its own right, but never really reached the level of SotHR, for me atleast.
And yeah OP, i definitely hope they'll do a remake at some point!
Fun fact: I remember looking at the ingame images on the back of the box and not having the slighest idea what they were showing, until i got home and installed and found out that was a a fight between grudgebringer cavalry and some orcs. I never played games for their graphics, but i'm still glad we've gotten so much further :)
No it was even bad at the time.
Myth was miles beyond those 2 warhammer games.
