Nope the latter 2 units were there since 8th Edition Warhammer Fantasy, I am seeing them listed in the Warriors of Chaos 8th Edition Army Book PDF I have:
The models in question:

And no, they are definitely not the premiere monsters.
Safer than villages, but not safe by any means. Gehemnisnacht is the night that Morrsleib is fullest and closest to the world, which has a number of effects. Obviously it whips up the frenzies of the Beastmen and the Night Goblins, but it also provides the largest flux of magic paired with one of the darkest nights of the year so is ideal for Vampires to hunt, causes the dead to raise from the ground of their own volition, and is the night with the highest incidence of spontaneous mutation. About the only "safe" place is the inside of a Karak, and possibly on Ulthuan or Naggaroth.
Because most of the effects of Gehemnisnacht are caused by the day itself, not by individuals who feel empowered by said night.
I am curious of putting Necrosphinx to the test of being "The Giant Monster that is made to kill Giant Monsters"
Yes, if you don't include the gun emplacements often mounted on Squiggoths.
Like why isn't Night Goblins and Forest Goblins and Savage Orcs their own Army?
Edit: Although that said, the Savage Orcs ARE their own faction and Skarsnik is technically a Goblin faction.
Guessing that GS weren't popular enough to justify it.
I was more referring to why hasn't GW done it? How I would do it is split the Greenskins into 2 armies: Greenskins and Savage Greenskins.
Greenskins have Orcs, Goblins, Black Orcs, and Night Goblin units.
Savage Greenskins have Savage Orcs and Forest Goblin units.
an arachnarok could take a wild squiggoth, it would just take a while for it to die. forgeworld gargantuan squiggoth is another story, in lore they can stomp on a baneblade.
Also keep in mind that they're basing it mostly off of the army books where everyone was combined.
