Ask me lore questions
Alright, I guess it's about time that I updated this description.

This is a place for newcomers to the lore, or veterans looking to fact-check, to come and ask questions about the lore of Warhammer Fantasy.

FAQ:
Q: Is 40k and Fantasy the same universe?
A: No. 40k discussions go in this thread. http://steamcommunity.com/app/364360/discussions/0/333656722976215057/

Q: What is the End Times and why did it happen?
A: The End Times is the destruction of the Warhammer Fantasy setting, both in and out of universe. Chaos won the final confrontation and destroyed the world, beginning a new cycle and franchise. Out-of-universe this was done because Fantasy's models were costing Games Workshop more money than they were making them so they decided to scrap the setting entirely and reboot it as an 80's power metal album cover.

Disclaimers/Guidelines (I know that we're not supposed to back-seat moderate but sometimes it's necessary to keep things organized):
1. The most important thing; I AM NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. Do not take what I say as the gospel truth, I can forget and I can misread things just like everybody else. My knowledge of the Elves is also pretty shady. There are several regulars around who tend to fill in blanks or correct me if I'm wrong though, so you'll probably get your answer regardless.

2. Repeat questions are ok, so long as the question hasn't been asked on the same page or the one before it. I don't expect anybody to sift through 3000+ posts, but a light skim of the previous page won't kill anybody.

3. GW is extremely vague on many things, so sometimes there just simply isn't an answer to your question. They're also prone to retcons so sometimes what you think is the answer is no longer valid.

4. Try to avoid arguments. I know that sometimes they're unavoidable, but please don't deliberately antagonize anybody. Pretty basic.

5. Sit back, read, and enjoy.

6. No questions about CA's design decisions, or attempts to explain them. It's pointless, and just starts arguments and existential despair.

7. No using the word "strawman". It's a personal thing, it just grates on me.

8. No continuing the "Skaven don't exist" meme outside the context of the lore. I know it's fun sometimes, but it's old, tired, and just wants to rest. Plus it grates on other people.

Lord Mortkin is fascinating because despite everything and having been bloated with the energies of the 4 Gods and Chaos Undivided....

His martial pride is what kept him anchored from becoming a mere pawn...

Which begs the question.

Who is stronger?

Mortkin or Archaon?
Mortkin probably had greater potential, but Archaon fully equippedwould proably be too much for even Mortkin

If both had all the same gear.

Archaon needed all that legendary gear and plot armor to forcibly put himself on the spotlight to be able to scare the Empire.

Whereas Mortkin didnt have anything remotely considered like a legendary full set of gears that compared to Archaon but carved fear that the Empire as a whole didnt make anymore attempts to invade/raid Norscan settlements...

Same gear and equally blessed? Mortkin. It's said only the everchosen could match him, so if you gave him the title of everchosen and everything that comes with the title, I'd argue he would beat Archaon.

Since Blizzard reveal how Sargeras sounds like.

How would you guys interpret the voice of the Chaos Gods including the Horned Rat and Hashut?

I didnt follow any Blizzard lore for almost a decade and nor do i care...
but if GW werent complete fawkwits half the time, their lore could be fleshed into something much greater than Warcraft lore. and how they present them
but nah fam.. GW cares more about short-term dough instead of planning for long term achievements.

It would be quite hilarious if Mammoths get a skill/secret passive that when they charge through "short" or "small" creatures... they instantly can kill a number of them by flattening them from its steps..

e.g. Goblins and Dwarfs.

Its like watching a fully armored Dwarf being squashed in a Hydraulic Press
imagine that scene.

its not thr stomping that kills the dwarf. its the suffocation from being driven into the ground like a nail.

Nurgle - A cross between Fat Albert and Professor Putricide.
Khorne - Mannoroth/Arthas
Tzeentch - No Idea (or Gall... the dumb head of Cho'Gall)
Slaanesh - Sounds like that trans-woman who tried transitioning in their later 40s and really can't fit the part at this point, it's pretty pointless, and you're not visually or verbally fooling anyone, but you sound KINDA ladylike, but not really.
The Horned Rat: A snivvling, caniving, evil Erkel.
Hashut: No idea.

Khorne: autistic (rageful) screeching.
Tzeentch: voice from emperor text to speech
Slaanesh: voice from emperor text to speech
Nurgle: God's voice from the Stephen Colbert show (but slightly deeper and slower)

Horned rat: like most other skaven, but slightly more intimidating
Hashut: something akin to malekith, but more powerful

Hashut sounds like Michael Clarke Duncan in my head.

Khorne: The voice actor for DoW1 Eliphas the Inheritor (he also did Gabriel Angelos in DoW1)

Tzeentch: Ron Perlman when voice acting "The Lich" in Adventure Time

Slaanesh: Morgan Freeman (Seriously though, the voice sooo soothing to the ears)

Nurgle: Jabba the Hutt

Horned Rat: Cory Michael Smith (Actor as "The Riddler" in Gotham TV show. Season 3 when his character has evolved into a true genius psychopath)

Hastut: Idris Elba

Example of Ron Perlman as "The Lich"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0q-4Wx26-0

he's suprisingly quite amazing at it.

Slaanesh should have a attractive voice not a dark calm voice.

(Bonus. he was enemies to Martin Freeman as Bilbo. whereas they're the best of friends in SHERLOCK.... even though Bentosnitch Cucumber was somewhat responsible for Watson's wife's death in Season 4)
