I got both of them and both of them are fun to me but if i would not have them:
Even if its more expensive i would buy the Beastman DLC first.
The Units are cool and the Faction is really fun to play in the Campaign. The horde mechanic is much better since you can have armies stay together without killing each other. The Chaos Warrios need to have some range between two armies or take some damage.
And they have some other cool faction abailitys like beastpath, Moon buffs, lots of vanguard Units and stealth on the map.
Btw. Beastman have a hard start. The units you got first are not very strong. you need to be careful the first rounds. But as soon you unlock and build some better units the Beastman army is really strong.
You should try to get the Minotaurus as soon as possible. They are really hardcore Infantry.
Maybe you should wait for other peoples to give some advice. Its just my opinion. i dont know if you think the same as me :)
Chaos is about monsters and armored soldiers (some of the best in the game) with almost no ranged units except for its superb arty. They can hold out in the middle of a fight for a long time.
Beastmen are about guerilla tactics, animal inspired monsters and lightly armored units. They are fast and hit hard, but can't hold out for a long time in battle. With the minotaurs they got some of the best charging units in the game.
But chances are that Beastmen will be more fun lol. As they're much easier to play, so you'll rage less. They have very weak troops compared to the other factions, but they just get so many insane buffs that really even things out and then some. Also their playstyle revolves around doing sneaky ambushes and hitting hard and fast, rather than sustained battles, which is a nice change to the regular battles which usually require a lot of micromanagement.
Yeah one of the "sorta" cool things about playing a horde, is that without any cities to manage, and generally less armies to manage too, your turns go a lot faster.
Also if you make a mistake, you lose the game and start over again, which isn't as bad as with other factions, since you burn through turns a lot faster lol. So it can be a lot of fun, even when it's difficult and you're losing lol.
