select all, hold shift+ left click then drag

Also you can group them and hit the lock icon on the group # in the unit card area, it l;ock the formation so you can just click to move

you don't have to lock them. you can also simply select the units you want to move and alt+drag them. its the easiest way. i use it all the time

Oh yeah that's right it's Alt+left click to drag your formation, not Shift + left click like i said in my first post. Sorry for the wrong info.

Nice info. Now if I can just figure out why half the time my formations swivel sideways when I just oder them to move forward. Seems if one little thing blocks a units forward movement the whole formations pathing goes crazy and starts turning every which way like their auditioning for a police academy movie.

If you hold Ctrl while Alt+left click formation it will switch to swivel mode, could that be your issue?

No I hardly ever use alt or ctrl I usually just click to move them but as I said if something is in the way it totally destroys the pathing and they seem to swivel around that obstacle with the ones hitting the obstacle staying right there and the ones to the right moving foward and the ones on the left backstepping the way they came from and the movement lines end up looking like one of the diagrams from a how to solve a rubix cube book.
